Although Dončić was injured with a left index finger sprain and a lower left leg contusion, which kept him out for 3 games, he returned and led the Lakers to a 124-114 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Cup 2025 West Group B opener. With Dončić out, the Lakers were able to go 2-1, thanks in large part to Austin Reaves, who stepped up big time.
